Senior Enrichment Activities
and Classes

Active older adults discover an endless variety of opportunities to pursue their interests, learn something new, and enjoy the companionship of peers, through the Forest Hills Senior Center and Computer Learning Center. Bi-weekly lunch-and-learn programs, fun and entertaining day trip opportunities, and an exciting schedule of special events, complement a dynamic list of lifelong learning and fitness courses tailored to the interests of our active seniors.

Download our publication for seniors, the Encore Programs Guide, for more information on activities and events coming in the weeks and months ahead.

Classes are offered each quarter/season (fall, winter, spring and summer). We stay up on the hottest trends is enrichment education and offer several new, fresh classes each quarter as well as perennial favorites that our community enjoys. We publish our classes in a printed class catalog three times a year:  fall, winter, and spring/summer. It is mailed to all Forest Hills families and others who sign up on our mailing list. Also, you can access an interactive version of the catalog by clicking the cover graphic on the left side of this page. Of course, you can access/register for all of our classes by clicking on the Classes/Events button above.

Computer Learning Center

Since 1998, Forest Hills Community Services has offered a unique resource to serve the computer-learning needs and interests of area seniors through the Computer Learning Center (CLC). It is located in a historical school building on Heather Lane, across from Collins Elementary School. A variety of computer classes are taught in the CLC lab that address using computers and peripherals, and software programs.

The Learning Café

The Learning Café is a program that meets at the Forest Hills Community, Aquatic and Senior Center the second and fourth Tuesday throughout the year. Typically, a catered luncheon at noon is followed by an entertaining and/or informative presentation at 12:45. Learning Café programs focus on topics in the arts, health, personal finance, travel, leisure pursuits, history, and much more.

Day Trips and Special Events

Each fall and spring, Community Services offers day trips to area points of interest. Locations may include live performance venues, historical locations, medical facilities and/or commercial interests and day trips include bus transportation and a meal (lunch). Also Community Services hosts special events such as musical revues and a health and wellness lecture series at the Forest Hills Fine Arts Center.
